Dar Mace has been a studio glass artist, student, and teacher over 30 years. Tarot cards became a passionate interest after she began to study symbolism in churches for commission work, followed by a number of large commissions that incorporated universal spiritual symbolism as their themes. Born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, she has lived on Gabriola Island since 1980. Her early years as an apprentice were through the mentorship of glass artist, Markian Olynyk, then later, in the partnership of Hello Darlly Art, with Holly Henning,. Their work together garnered international recognition.  Dar, through her glass work, continues to travel to wonderful destinations (most recently Chile, South America) and is in the process of enlarging her home studio, based on Gabriola.  She has a M.Ed. in adult learning and her  small, informative, and enthusiastic classes are a great way to experience a lifelong passion for glass and art. ( Classes in mosaic, fused, stained glass & tarot reading to begin to continue in 2020 – SEE “LEARNING”)
